I go there monthly to get my SPICY chicken shwarma wrap! The food is made fresh immediately after you order it. Takes time...but it is hot and ready to eat! My son hooked me on to this place. He calls ahead and says it's always ready when you get there. I've got time to wait for a good meal! It would take longer if I tried to make it and not nearly as good.

Wow!!! Finally a middle eastern place with some spice and flavor. Great service and exceptional food. Be careful though,if you ask for spicy, that is exactly what you will get!

Just enjoyed a very tasty Spicy Chicken Shawarma Wrap from Falafil Hut. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Ehhh, The food is sub par. The first time was great, but looks like the quality dropped. I am not wasting my time for food that doesn't taste that great.

This chicken shawarma wrap is really hitting the spot! Delicious. Made to order. Spicy but not too spicy. Not much room to sit, so that may be a problem during lunchtime rush hour.

BEST KEPT SECRET IN SCHAUMBURG!!! where do I start?? my gf and I love this place! they give you so much hummus! I get the spicy chicken tandoori wrap, and I swear by it. nothing tastes like it. no other place comes close. I come here as often as I can. the staff are very friendly, but the Russian-looking guy is very slow. the guy with the hat is awesome. I should ask his name, since I go there all the time lol. There isn't anything on the menu that I didn't like. I tell everyone to go that is ever in that area.

Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. I ordered the spicy chicken shawarma platter (spicy chicken shawarma on a bed of rice, with salad, hummus and pita bread: $8). The chicken actually had a good kick to it, which I was very happy about and even the rice was tasty and I usually don't like rice. My only complaint is that I got my food to go and they didn't give very much hummus. All in all, very good!

I got the spicy chicken / beef combo plate. Didn't actually go inside - a friend picked it up for me. But I have to say... I've been to just about every Mediterranean place in Chicago proper, and this stuff blew me away. The depth of flavor is incredible. Hoping to check out the store soon and try more of the menu!

Chicken tawwa rice is the best and also with a side of the pita chips. This is our weekly meal now. The tawwa rice is perfectly made with the perfect amt of spice. Very friendly staff.

The place is not that great but the food is good. The fact that they don't have a restroom or any place to wash hands makes me don't want to go there. They don't give you a napkins, you have to ask for it. One night it was really cold and thier credit card machine didn't work. I didn't have any cash, but the guy insisted I have to pay him despite I go there almost at least 3 times a week. I had to run to the ATM and bring him some cash. That action made me never want to go there again.

Great food! Falafel is crispy and flavorful! Chicken is delicious! Get your order to go, it's not really an eat in kind of place.

  • Umair Q.

Food is phenomenal, only downside is the atmosphere of the restaurant since it is a bit small. Would definitely come back for more any day!

  • Nik O.

Both lamb and chicken shawarma are freaking delicious. Ask for it extra EXTRA spicy to feel death, normal spicy to feel just right. Only thing I'd criticize is their hours, wishing they would just be open all day :P

Stopped in for lunch- That spicy chicken is killer. Can't wait to go again

I love middle eastern food. Been here a handful of times. Takes a really looooooong time to get your food - even if you're the only customer. I've done pickup orders where they quote time as 1hr - and when I came in, took another 30mins. And store is not busy at all. Another time, my pickup order was given to another customer accidentally, so had to wait a long time again. Food taste/quality inconsistent - sometimes delicious and juicy meat - other times super dry and inedible. I just now go to pita house - even tho its farther, food and service is better.

Have healthy options, great for lunch. Ambiance is not so great but food is fresh and flavorful. Cooks are great and if you are short on time, call ahead always works out great.

I wouldn't consider myself an expert on Middle Eastern cuisine, so I can't really say if this place is authentic or not. But what I will say is their falafel wrap is sooooooo tasty! I usually get my falafel sandwiches from Pita House on Roselle Rd, but I wanted to try somewhere different and closer to the office. To clarify, there is no falafel sandwich at Falafil Hut, they only offer wraps. But it's still wrapped in a pita, it's not a flour tortilla or anything. This was my first experience there, and I didn't experience the long wait times that other reviewers complained about. Everything is made-to-order, but I appreciate that and don't mind waiting. It took about 5 minutes to receive my wrap; not bad at all. The place is small and kind of a dingy, hole-in-the-wall. There are only about 4 tables, and a counter by the front window with about 4 stools. I don't think I would count on being able to dine-in here because if they got very busy there will be nowhere to sit. Everything in my wrap was delicious. The falafel were soooo tasty and all the produce in the wrap (tomatoes, chopped lettuce, and chopped cucumbers) were firm and fresh! It had just the right amount of tahini so that you could taste it, but it didn't make the pita soggy. They might have put a thin layer of hummus in too, but I'm not sure. I will definately be back the next time I'm craving falafel. Next time, I'll probably phone-in my order ahead of time so it's ready when I get there. I heard good things about the Spicy Chicken Shawarma, so I will try that too!

We stopped by for a quick bite. Not a fancy place but nice people and great food. We had the chicken shawarma. Nice spicy. Really cool place. Will be back for sure.

We ate here due to the strong ratings on Yelp. We were not disappointed! The chicken schwarma wraps were great! The hot sauce was tasty without being overpowering. The man working behind the counter was accomodating and friendly. A very tasty and affordable lunch!

  • Yav A.

They are known for their Spicy Chicken shawarma and that's fine by me. Delicious! 5 out of 5. The sandwich is very satisfying and can feed two people! I will come back to try their falafil too I heard great things about these chickpea delights.

I absolutely love Middle Eastern food. My girlfriend and I recently moved to Schaumburg and are always looking for delicious eats. We were hesitant about this place but decided to take a chance and let me tell you - IT WAS WORTH IT! Hands down one of the best Chicken Shwarma Sandwiches I have ever had! And the best part - they add jalapeños to it to give it an extra kick! The sandwiches are huge and we were only able to eat half each. Between the two sandwiches and the incredible humus we ordered it came out to be $16 for both, not bad! Would definitely recommend this place and will absolutely come here again. The only word of advice - order before hand on the phone, because the food is so fresh it takes about 15 minutes to get it! (That and the fact that its so hot in there is the reason i didn't put 5 stars)

  • Fadi A.

Hands down! Best Zabihah Halal, Beef Shawarma and Chicken Shawarma sandwiches in town. Both sandwiches were made to order and were just simply perfect. The beef was very well cooked on a Rotisserie and so was the chicken. Both of them were perfectly spiced for perfection and every bite reminded me of Shawarma sandwiches I used to eat while visiting Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Saudia Arabia. Pita bread was loaded with meat and tahini sauce, they even warmed it up in panini maker. Sanitation for me wasn't a issue. The guy who prepared our sandwich was wearing gloves and was very clean. They do have sit down tables. Not sure why another helper said it was a carry out only place? In the end, I will return to this place with my entire extended family and have them try the sandwiches as every bite took me down the memory lane. People who are not familiar with the type of sandwiches made in middle east dont have anything to compare this too, luckily I do!

  • G E.

Good quality Middle Eastern fast food. I have tried 4-5 of there dishes and have had no complaints, the place is a bit of a hole in the wall and during lunch there is a wait time but for the price and quality it is worth checking out.

  • Jeremy C.

Went here for lunch with the wife. We both ordered the Lamb Shawarma Wrap, as well as a half dozen of falafel to go. We got one sandwich spicy and the other regular. The sandwiches are big, with a lot of meat, great taste, freshly made, and the spicy one is not overly kickin'...but just right. Like other reviews stated, the falafels are delicious and freshly made. We actually saw the cook scoop them and drop them into the hot oil. I would say that this is not really a place to eat in, but to carry out. There are only two tables, and 4-5 stools at the counter in the window. So it just depends - you definitely can't bring like an entire family of 4-5 here, but if it's just you and a friend...maybe not so bad if the tables are not taken. We will definitely go back to try the chicken and/or the beef!

    (4)
  • Aseem G.

Fantastic food. Spicy chicken shawrama is marvelous - must try. Quantity is good to more than feed 1 person. Next time I'll try the platter. One of very few places that did not have frozen chicken. Shade expensive for the eating experience you get.

THINGS GOT WIERD!!!!!!!! There really isn't any place to sit and eat so....plan on Carry Out. When we arrived, we couldn't locate a menu, then the employee just pointed to a paper flyer taped to the counter AND with most of the items being blacked out. While ordering, I learned that other items listed just wern't available or they didn't know where they were. WHAT?! We ordered the beef shwarma meal with rice and hummus. It took FOREVER!!!! I stood around watching them prepare the meal. You can watch them cook behind the counter. To tell you the truth, I actually became concerned about proper sanitation and such. I just kept thinking that this was wierd and gross. And the employees were REDIC!!!!!! They seemed confused about how to prepare the meal, and how to pack it up. Another customer came into the Falafil Hut and said she had been trying to call them and nobody was picking up-- All they told her was the phone was turned to not ring? I don't know- it was strange. Strange. Dirty. Unorganized. Slow service. AND the food was only ok- I actually can't believe I still ate it.

I'm so confused. Screaming across the landscape like an unstoppable wave of sound middle eastern food calls out to me. Its spiced, rich notes echoing in the fondest chambers of my soul. It was an unseasonably warm March evening when I decided my heart and body were aching for some of my good ol' fashioned soul food as I was cruising down Golf Ave and Falafil Hut appeared in my periphery. Parked and went inside and perused the menu. It's not special, but then again the best middle eastern spots never are. Shwarma, falafil, hummus, baba ganouj and all the usual players headlined the act with a few Indian specialties as well, but I was in no adventurous mood. Nay, the evening cried for the familiar and delicious. I ordered a combo plate of beef shwarma, chicken shwarma and falafel and proceeded to wait for my food to be ready. And waited. And waited. And waited. Granted I was a walk-in order but I didn't expect it to take upwards of 20 minutes for my order to be prepared. The girl making the food apologized several times as the person who came in before me apparently ordered for his entire auto dealership and it was taking longer than expected. I didn't make a stink. I had Angry Birds on my Droid and nowhere to be. In the end I got a free order of Hummus for my wait and was on my way. Got home, unwrapped this veritable feast and dug in. So I try not to compare restaurants too much. And in this case I won't do so unfairly. But Pita Inn has the best pita bread on Earth and Falafil Hut has the worst. I don't know who taught them to make pita and I don't care. Take them out back and shoot them. Their pita was flat and hard and awful. It had no bite to it, it was just terrible and I don't know who I angered to deserve such terrible pita but there it was, in copious amounts and torturing me with every bite. If it were superfluous like a bread basket in an Italian restaurant I'd forgive it but come on now, this is middle eastern. Pita is central and vital to the food and Falafil Hut served up a big stinking pile of bad. The rest of the food was decent and filling but the pita soured the whole event. I wanted it to be better. I tried every single piece they gave me but to no avail. Their pita was just no good. It pains me to say but I won't be going back to Falafil Hut. I can't. There are better local outlets for middle eastern and Falafil Hut just isn't up to snuff, sorry to say.

I love the food here and have been going to Falafil Hut for over 2 years on a regular basis but things have taken a bad turn lately. It appears that the help that they have hired is hell bent on giving customers a hard time. The last 2 times I've been there, I was given a wait time of 20 mins for my shawarmas but ended up waiting over 1 hr. the customer service is a joke. The food is great, it would be a shame to see this place go out of business as a result of poor customer service. Normally I would have given this place a 4 star but the customer service has been so bad that I'm inclined to rate this place with a 1 star as no food is worth this much aggravation!

The most delicious Chicken Shawarma wrap filled with a mountain of meat, fresh vegetables, an tasty spices to compliment a meal which requires to hands to hold.

If you go, be sure to check-in on Yelp! before you order, because they have a free soda offer for checking in. I really want to give Falafil Hut 4 stars, because I was really impressed with their schawarmas, and I usually try to just rate on the food. But there were too many less than impressive points that knocked it down for me. 2 tables, and a run-down counter are the only spots to eat, so take-out is a likelihood if there is any level of crowd. Nothing against a dive place, but certainly could use a little bit more thought, and effort. Couldn't find a menu to hold, or even on the wall. Just a copy of the menu packing taped to the counter under the register. Since I couldn't really scrutinize the menu, I just decided to try the non-vegetarian lunch special. Had both chicken and beef schawarmas. A salad, if it a small handful of lettuce with a slice of cucumber and some onions can be called a salad. Some rice buried under the schawarma. Half of a large pita- not house made. And a thimble-full of a runny creamy sauce- probably was supposed to be the salad dressing, but I put it on the schawarma. I wanted to add a falafel (falafil?) or 2... They wouldn't sell me an individual falafel?!? I didn't need a half dozen (though I probably would have eaten them all), so I skipped the falafel. :( Ah, the schawarma- beef and chicken. Definitely yum! Certainly appeared to be house made. Nice and crispy pieces. Nice and juicy. When you order, they ask if you want it regular or spicy. I liked that. I went spicy. They cook it up with the hot sauce, which melds the flavors very well, instead of just topping the dish with a cold sauce. I gotta say, I had the full-on face sweats in just a couple of bites, but it still had all the flavor. Then I started comparing to some of my favorite schawarma & falafel joints (though, none of which are in the Schaumburg area), and Falafil Hut just couldn't get the 4th star. For the Schaumburg area, they certainly have a darn good schawarma, for which I want to go back. My problem is that with so many restaurants to try, and so little time, I'm starting to get to the point that if a place isn't 'wow', chances are I'll more likely try others before I make it back. I do really want to give Falafil Hut another try.

very good shwarma, decent prices, generous portions. nothing to complain about

I've had their falafil sandwich, chicken swarma sandwich, and their hummus and pita. All was phenomenal. Best I've had in this area. I love hole-in-the wall restaurants Note: Service is a little slow for take-out...because they take take their time to make everything fresh, right and delicious

    (5)
  • Krysia S.

Definitely a carry out place! The falafel is delicious, big and moist! The chicken wrap spicy sandwich is huge with a lot of meat and very good! Not bad priced! Third time going back!

  • Muj A.

I love Falafil Hut. Everything is hand made and fresh. I always get the chicken shwarma sandwich which is out of this world. It's middle eastern food of course but it's a bit spicier than your typical shwarma joint. If you're going to go during peak hours it's a good idea to call in your order. Owner is always there, which usually ensures consistency.

YUM!! Great Middle Easterr/Pakistani food, especially given the demographics. Being from Skokie, we have quite a few really great Middle Eastern restaurants in the neighborhood. I dragged a friend of mine here to try something new and different (given he's an all American meat & potatoes kinda guy) and after much coaxing he agreed to try it. I prayed to the Ethnic Food Gods that Falafil Hut would not disappoint. The venue is nothing to write home about, and although they really need to take a mop and sponge the place down, the people behind the counter and grill were very nice and offered suggestions to my wary companion. He complained about the unfamiliar aromas coming out of the kitchen area and the patrons in the retaurant, so we placed an order to go so we can eat in the comfort of his home. After pointing out what each item was and what was in it, he took a bite out of his spicy Chicken Shwarma combo dish and didn't resurface until he had completely cleaned out his entire take-out container. He acted completely indifferent about his first Middle Eastern Food experience, but watching him snarf his entire meal down in the course of 20 minutes confirmed that he actually liked it and might broaden his palette with some other adventurous foods. Two days later he called me and made me guess where he had eaten his dinner. He had a little bit of bad luck running into an older guy at the counter who was not very friendly or helpful since my buddy was trying to replicate the same meal he had the other night. But now he's a regular! LOL. Just about everything on the menu is amazing, and the baklava is fresh and light and a bargain for the portion and price! Really great flavorful food, but some advice for the novice who wants to try some exotic faire at this establishment: Ask the cooks or the younger guys behind the counter for some suggestions. They're a lot more accomodating and friendlier than the older guys.

My wife and I hit Falafil Hut once a month for a quick takeout dinner. I had been ordering spicy chicken shawerma sandwiches until I discovered the spicy gyro sandwich - wow! Always friendly, price is right, and very tasty. To the reviewers complaining about slow service ... it helps to phone ahead here. Never a problem for me!

They have amazing Hydrabadi biryani but its available occasionally most likely on Fridays. Chicken Shawarma is their specialty and it taste amazing. I loved it. I visit this place any time I go to Schaumburg area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and 100% Zabiha Halal.

Loooove the chicken shawarma! The blend of spices is so yummy, you have no compunctions about licking your messy fingers dry. This tiny joint lost in a little strip mall on golf road is a hidden gem. We know our shawarmas and boy did they get it right! The servers are so friendly. And Hyderabadi biryani for $5. Yes! This is going on my weekly pilgrimage route.

So so I have been there 2 times so far. I ordered a falafil sandwitch both times. The first time the falafil appeared to be freshly made. It was crispy and crunchy. It was a fairly filling falafil sandwitch made in generous pita bread with veggies, hot sauce, tahini, hummus (the usual works). The second time I ordered the falafils were probably not freshly made. It didn't seem as crunchy/crispy as first time. it didnt have much character - looks like I was biting into a big slab of brick or something. Just when I got my sandwitch I saw the owner in the back of the restaurant smoking and coming out (not kidding). He didn't appear to wash his hands. I wasn't too happy with that. The owner does prepare the falafil sometimes - not sure how strictly they take their hygiene .Besides you should not smoke inside the restaurant anyway. I haven't been there after that.

I love their spicy chicken schawarma. Its the best tasting wrap I've ever had and a great deal besides. Good and spicy with a nice veg "crunch" texture to it. Its also one of the most reasonably priced lunches in Schaumburg!

  • Zhong Y.

A great and quick chicken shawarma plate or sandwich in Hoffman Estates. The Falafil is good, but not as good as the shawarma. Baba Ghanouj is nice and smokey. The toum garlic spread is quite tasty. There's maybe two or three stools where you can sit and eat your lunch facing the parking lot. This is actually a blessing so you can taste how good the food is. It can get busy in the lunch hour, but, everything is made to order.

  • Laura S.

This is my favorite place for falafil and hummus in the area. Plus their stuffed grape leaves are delicious. There prices are extremely reasonable and there lunch specials are $5.00. I go here about once a week. The speed of service varies depending on who is working, so if you have a time constraint call in your order ahead of time. The people that work behind the counter are friendly and it kind of looks like a hole in the wall, but you will not be disappointed.

    (4)
  • Carie D.

Not impressed at all. No kefta kebab on the menu and they were out of stuffed grape leaves. I ordered chicken shawarma and I could not believe how greasy it was. The only good point is that the guy behind the counter was pleasant.

  • Maggie M.

Food wise this place is amazing! I always get their spicy chicken shwarma platter with fatoosh and baba ganouj. I must say that thier baba ganouj is the best I've ever had. Im not arabic, but I have had baba ganouj at other places in the area, and it tops them all. The only thing that brought them down a star is the cleanliness of the store, and there is not really anywhere to sit except for the akward bench staring out the window. They need to work on that. But if you are just going for food, its amazing! And they give you alot with friendly service. :)

So I usually don't write yelp reviews, but I felt like I needed to for this place. The food is good, but definitely not worth the wait (I got the spicy chicken shawarma sandwich). I called in my order in 30 minutes before I got there since I was just going to pick up the food on my lunch break and the guy said it would be ready in 15-20 mins. Well, when I got there the guy said that there was at least a 10 min. wait on the chicken...ummm...I called a half hour before and there is still a wait?? I told him that the guy on the phone said it would be ready in 15-20 mins. and he said at that point they were low on the chicken. Isn't the point of calling in your order ahead of time for carry out to get your food as soon as you get there? Why wouldn't they have just made my sandwiches as soon as I called? Very unprofessional. I had to end up waiting for 25 minutes after I got there!!! To say the least I was very annoyed since it basically took up most of my lunch time. Oh, and the people who walked in and ordered got their food before me! I called in beforehand, wouldn't I be first in line to get my food?! Overall, not worth the wait, unprofessional, only 1 person making food and slow.

This is a fav spot of ours for something quick and cheap yet not full of fat and no flavor. Last visit we decided to dine in as we were too hungry to wait to get home. First off the place was ICE COLD but again there are a few tables there and not too many people eat in. I would have given them 4 stars but our experience there last night negates them by one. They have a menu on a big white board and also a paper menu, I grabbed a paper menu as they do not have a menu online and we never know what they have other than the Shwarma sandwiches that we always get. While we were waiting we did order a humus...when we paid we were charged 2.50 when the menu said 1.99...I know its only 50 cents but this boils down to principle. The cashier pointed out that it was 2.50 on the white board and that the paper menus were old and it stated "prices subject to change"...okay that is great and all but you could have said "this one time I will charge you the 1.99 but next time please be aware". But no, instead of comping the measly 50 cents and providing good customer service he just kept arguing over the menus and the fine print...even though we weren't questioning it once he explained it, he just kept repeating it over and over and over??? That is how you loose customers....arguing over 50 cents? We may be back but I will def think twice about going there....even though I do love the turnip pickles they out in their sandwiches!

I had seen this place open recently and wanted to give it a try for quite some time now and I did. It's a subway gone falafel kind of place where you can select sandwich made up of a huge pita bread and also add your liking of veggies that go inside it though you don't have as many veggies as in Subway. Unlike the other places around like Pita House where they just stuff meat and few veggies in inside a smaller pita this is more sandwich like with pita rolled rather stuffed and ends up kind of similar to a conventional wrap. It's a great idea taking forward but very unfortunate to say poorly executed by this place, the place was not clean and veggies were mostly from yesterday or before, the staff who made the sandwich was very unprofessional was doing his job hastily. The sandwich did taste good but I would have loved to see some more cleanliness, professionalism and fresher ingredients which other wise was a great idea to Mediterranean food. !!!!UPDATE!!!! I took the courage to go there again after my first experience mentioned above, the first was OK but this time it was bad the sandwich was just a mix of edible things nothing worked with each other the quality seems to be getting better to worst will stay way

This place is so good... sooooo good! The super combo is more than enough for two people to share. It is amazing. The chicken, lamb, falafil all just the best around. Pita so big I made a hat and walked around the office like Raiden trying to fight people. Later on the super combo took me on a adventure in the bathroom that I and my coworkers will not soon forget. There in stall two, I reenacted the Saturn V Apollo moon launch. I was able to develop enough thrust to make Werner Von Braun smile down from the heavens with two thumbs up. Just when I thought my ride was over. The second stage kicked in with enough force to make me blackout for part of my afternoon thrill ride. Thanks Falafil Hut. I cant wait for my next colonic adventure!

So first off, I am indian and the quest for a mouth watering wrap is far and arduous. I would give this place 5 stars if I felt more welcome but its a fast food joint at heart. I stopped in yesterday after a while ( I live 30 minutes away else I would be there daily) I had the lamb shwarma and chicken tawa rice. 19 bucks seemed high but ahwell you only live once right When I got the food the shwarma weighed about a pound and when I opened it it was all lamb so Its a great deal. The shwarma gave me that juicy mouth watering taste I have been looking for enough spice to make you breath a few times more but the taste oh the taste. Next I ordered the chicken tawa ( I told the wife don't send me to restaurants hungry) its like 1.5 lbs a good amount of chicken its not biryani so the chicken is already in pieces ( love that) oh the taste I am writing this as I eat this to prepare to go somewhere else just in case the food isn't what it should be. Its spicy but not like a bunch of chli spicy but like deep spicy with layers. I mean I ordered it yesterday had it tonight and it will be lunch tomorrow not cuase I want variety but for the quanity. This place is my new go to for pick up desi spiced food. Oh btw there falafel is Lebanese style in a wrap not a pita but exceptional.

My friends and I ate lunch here one day, and after a very candid conversation the next day, we all experienced the same gastrointestinal problems. The food tasted amazing, but the after effects were not worth the savory menu items. Skip anything deep fried; stick with the rice.

Pretty heavy price increase for a place you can't really sit down in. Now one of the higher priced Dozen Falafels $7 in the NW burbs, and not exactly the biggest either. I like the crust and heat when they are on and open, but am tired of things like the sauce tops not being on properly and spilling everywhere. Still erratic, very good when they are on, and better when Achmed is there. A-OK

The food was amazing. So flavorful and seriously delicious. It's spicy and tangy but not so much that it burns your mouth. The only reason o give this place a four star is because the wait time for the food to come out is long so I'd suggest calling in advance for your order.

Falafil Hut sits kind of hiden in one of the many shopping plazas Golf Road in Schaumburg. It is a very small place with two small tables and a counter where you can order (but not sit at). So, if you are lucky you might find a place to sit while there, but chances are if you go to Falafil Hut you are going there for take out. The food was good. We ordered a lot - mainly their spicy chicken shwarma. They advertise that they are the place for spicy chicken shwarma. I have to admit that it was good. The pita they give you is not the typical small round - it is a large flatbread. It is also soft like you would expect, but this is not a pocket pita. The dinner comes with a small salad. And, their hummus was good, but not the best I've had in the suburbs. So, I would classify Falafil Hut as a good middle eastern take-out restaurant. Compared to some of the others in the area, it is not the best. But, it certainly rates as one to try.

I always love it when I discover that places extremely close to my apt. have awesome food. Falafil Hut, tucked into and almost hidden in a strip mall in Hoffman, does not disappoint in the least. I drove by this place daily for a solid couple of months when I moved here without noticing it. It's strange, but so many of the businesses in Hoffman almost appear like they are trying to hide from consumers. This stands in stark contrast to down the street in Schaumburg where where merchants are about as obnoxious with their marketing as a whorehouse in Tijuana. I have payed this joint a visit a good dozen times since first checking it out. Considering how into restaurants that I am, if I have been anywhere more than 5-6 times in such a short time period, I would say it is safe to assume that the food is on point. The menu here is simple and short, but all you really need to be mindful of if you have never visited before is the Chicken Shwarma. Order it in wrap or salad form and dig in, as your taste buds are in for a treat. The portion sizes are large here, but I'll bet you polish off the whole thing anyway as it is simply delicious. The meat is super tender and seasoned with what must be crack considering how addictive it is. You should drizzle some of the garlic sauce on it to give it that dynamite flavor contrast. This also cuts out some of the heat if you opt for the "extra spicy" version, which is my personal preference. Is it hot? Absolutely, but it is not melt your face off hot. I would keep a cold beverage nearby, but fans of extremely spicy food will find it to be mere child's play on the Scoville scale. I have tried several other items on the menu here (the lamb is a solid choice) but I always manage to gravitate back towards the Chicken. The hummus several of my coworkers are huge fans of, but to me it is just average. Though suffice to say that I am much of a fan of hummus just in general, so take that with a grain of salt. I did post a picture of the menu to check out since there is not one listed online. On most of my visits, both the fluffy pita itself and the vegetables have been extremely fresh on the wraps. Now granted that the chicken is so good that you could dip it in motor oil and I would probably still eat it, but it's nice that all the bases are covered. Pricing is cheap, with the wraps setting you back between 4 and 8 bucks. The staff here has always been very personable and helpful on my visits, especially when the owner is in the house. This guy obviously has a passion for the food he serves, which likely explains why it is so well made. Any good independent restauranteur out there is 70% foodie and 30% businessman. The owner loves to chat if it's not busy, and I have heard the tale of how his restaurant came to be on a couple of occasions. The YouTube food show "Sameer's Eats" has done an episode on Falafil Hut, which I am sure you can find with a simple Google search if you are interested. If you plan to stop in here on your lunch break, I highly recommend you call in your order in advance. Service can slow down to a snails pace during the weekday lunch rush, so plan accordingly. I would also plan on taking your food to go on since there are few places to actually sit. Since I just live right down the street this is not a huge concern for me, but to others looking to have the food piping hot, take your lunch break early as possible so you can score a table. There has been some instances of inconsistency when I have dined here, which prevents this place from 5 star billing in my book. Not surprisingly, these have always directly corresponded to times when the owner is not in the building. Overall, this is a great option for casual Middle Eastern grub. The prices are decent, the service is normally on point, and the Chicken Shwarma is to die for. Om nom nom.

I love a place where when I ask for spicey, they give me spicey. I always always crave their tawa rice-extra spice-with garlic sauce/paste on the side. More of a take out place than a sit down and eat.

Best spicy chicken shawarma I've had so far. Ordered ahead, so he always has it ready to go.

I literally drive 20 mins everyday to get their Spicy Chicken Shwarma wrap! Would I recommend this place? ABSOLUTELY!

Falafel is not that easy to make right. Sometimes it can be too dry, bland or just simply not good. But falafel hut has got their recipe down! Their falafel is done correctly, crunchy on the outside and moist and blasting with flavor on the inside! The only thing that they could do better is using authentic middle eastern pickles instead of hamburger pickles, but nonetheless it was still tastier than many of the middle eastern restaurants that I have tried in Illinois. I'm from Michigan so I come from home of amazing middle eastern cuisine and so it makes it challenging to actually find a place that comes close, and this place almost does. I was impressed with their hummus as well, it's soo hard to find actually good hummus and not watered down crap they call hummus here! Overall I thought this little place has done their falafel and hummus very well! I would definitely recommend it, prices are a little bit more expensive at $5.50 for a wrap but it's pretty big and its delicious!

It's a small place that has a couple tables, but mostly for take out. I had the falafel wrap here. It takes awhile to make (about 10 minutes), but when I had my first bite I could tell it was fresh and made with love. Next time I would ask for extra garlic sauce though because I can never have enough of that!!!

Just tried Falafil Hut for the first time.. While it will not win any awards for it's decor, the food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !

This is a small place, a hidden place. But the food here is absolutely amazing, I had the super combination platter, which I would recommend to everyone. Nice staff, clean place, not a lot of seating better for take out.

Just finished a spicy chicken shawarma, from falafel hut.was excellent. My daughters told me about this place. Everything is made to order . Food is fresh,it's a little place, set in the back of a strip mall. I had enough food for 2 meals. & it's reasonable price wise. The service was friendly as well . 5 stars in my review. Will be back there, the pita bread & homemade hummus was great too

Ate here a few days ago with a friend. Never had a beef hummus before and it was awesome at this place!

Food is fair, service slow, the place is a dump so don't plan on bringing a date here and don't plan on going anywhere after without changing your clothes and taking a shower... Seems they save on electric by not turning the hoods on so you leave there smelling like you were working the grille... However the food was decent for what it is.. Advice order ahead of time run in and run out and eat in your car.

I really like the extra spicy shawarma that this place makes. I love Mediterranean food and I am a huge fan of shawarmas. The price here is reasonable and the quantity is great. I can eat one shawarma for 2 meals because it very filling to finish in one sitting. The owner here is very very nice and takes excellent care of his customer. He really knows to work the business but when he is not there, one of the other cook can be really nasty with the customers. He has been nice to me just once, out of the many times I have gone and I hope he fixes his attitude before he starts ticking customers off. He messes up orders and is incredibly moody. If the owner is in the store, your in good hands but if the other guy is cooking, I would check and double, triple check to make sure I got the right order. Their food is very healthy and not very greasy and falafils are really good too. The quality of the food is excellent. highly recommonded!

I typically come here for lunch when I crave some good spicy food. I come here for the tava rice and the garlic sauce, it's amazing. It's a small little joint but if you're with a small group it shouldn't be bad. The owner is very friendly. Definitely worth it.

I tried Falafil Hut today. You can tell that this place is meant to be a carry out restaurant they have limited seating maybe 11 chairs total. My little brother got a chicken wrap and i got a chicken salad. I told the guy at the register ( who didn't look like he was so happy to be there) I wanted medium spicy when i got the food it wasn't what I expected the meat was way to hot even for me ( I'm indian so I can handle my heat) and the salad was just regular lettuce cut up with onions. It wasn't anything special at all. All in all I've been to over 30 different middle eastern restaurants and this place is at the bottom of my list. Ohh and the tahini sauce tastes like it went bad. The place also needs to be cleaned or something to much dirt on the walls and stuff. Im giving it 2 stars because the food wasn't undercooked and It came out within 8 minutes. Ill go back to give it another try and hopefully i won't be disappointed again.

Excellent food. I had the gyro plate. The food was tasty. I never had a gyro with rice, but the rice was very good. I would definitely recommend this place. The food was excellent and the service was great for carry out. We didn't wait too long.

Flafil hut is always yummy. I have had the combination platter, chicken shawarma, and their flafel's. All the meats are cooked to perfection. Flafel's are to soggy but rest was perfect.

The food here is excellent, have ordered from here many times and every time the food was delicious! I've had the beef shawarma, lamb shawarma, chicken shawarma, and the lunch special, great service, order ahead of time, the food is tasty, fresh and well worth the money and wait!

Overall, excellent food and restaurant. Food: DELICIOUS spicy chicken and lamb shwarmas and (scooped-to-order) falafel. Hummus was very good. Rice was just okay. I would definitely order the same thing again (combination platter with lamb instead of beef). Also, the portions were large. Service: EXCELLENT service. Ahmed (the manager) was cooking. He was very nice and talked to us. There were a number of orders being made ahead of ours so it did take a little while. But you can see all the food being prepared so you have a pretty good idea where your order is in the queue. It's worth the wait. Summary: We really enjoyed it and will definitely be going back. Why not five stars? Well, it took longer than we expected and the rice was just okay.

I got the chicken tawwa with rice. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It juicy, spicy and had an extra kick that I haven't tasted before. They also give you a generous serving accompanied with rice and a small salad. Good for carryout

Spicy combination platter is pretty awesome here. Work closer to the place and go hereat least once a week. Most of the time end up getting the lunch special which is smaller quantity of the platter for almost half the price.

This is pretty much the first review I've written, but this place deserves it. The food is delicious! I've literally made it a routine coming here 2-3 meals a week. Try the chicken shawarma roll, it's excellent!

I just want to say this restaurant is unappealing walking into but has the best chicken shawarma platter that I have ever had. Their dinner portion is enough for two people. I live in the suburbs and work downtown and every time I go into the office later, my boss and colleagues ask if I can pick up chicken shawarma on my way. I have yet to find a place in the city that compares.

Super small inside, no bathroom, but.... best chicken shawarma platter I've had, and same goes for the tasty falafil wrap. They should open a bigger place.

3 words: chicken shawarma salad. Tastes amazing and is on the healthier side since its protein and so many veggies. We always get it to go and eat it for dinner (this place is meant to be more of a "to go" place since there is a small area for seating). SO GOOD!

KNOWN FOR - Spicy Chicken Shawarma (10/10) I ALSO TRIED - Falafils (8/10) While I can proudly say that I've been eating shawarma long before the 2nd secret ending of The Avengers, I'm still not head over heels about it. That's why it's taken me a while to stop by, because out of all the weird things I get cravings for (554, pho, Pok Pok in Portland) shawarma never really gets called. Luckily enough, I decided to stop today by while taking my little shortcut home. Back when this place first opened, I was rushing home from work, and needed some kind of sustenance because I was about to engage in an 8 hour battle with internet dragons. Call me a nerd, whatever. Anyway, I bought a chicken shawarma, because that seemed easy, and I came home, scarfed it down, and threw away 8 hours of my life. I do remember it being very tasty and that I should write a review, so...better late than never, right? I'm pretty sure either the owner or head chef changed, because the food does look different. I'll explain... SPICY CHICKEN SHAWARMA When I first came here, there was a menu with 6 items on it, that's it. I also remember I wanted beef shawarma, but they only had chicken. Looking on their menu today, they definitely now have beef, and they definitely have a lot more than 6 items! Moreover, they are now also "The Home Of The Spicy Chicken Shawarma." Well, I'm a sucker for "Famous For" type of things, so I had to get it. They shave some chicken off of the broiler and then throw it on the grill with some onions. I seem to recall it used to be served in a pita, but now it's served in a pita tortilla kinda thing. They take the tortilla, smear it with hummus, then yogurt sauce, some lettuce, tomato, and onions, then the chicken-onion grill, and then generous amounts of some other sauce, which I assume is the "spicy" part of it. Then they wrap it up. The thing is messy. The way they roll it up, it's very non-functional, as it's completely open on both sides. They need to get some practice from Chipotle or even Taco Bell. But other than the messiness, this thing is awesome! All the sauces and the juices from the chicken make everything so tender, and the sauces really get around, because every single bite is just bursting with Mediterranean herby flavor and an absolutely perfect amount of seasoning. I hate raw onions, but the flavors of everything else really trapped the raw onion taste that I hate, and only let the very tail end of that linger as the flavors of the whole bite started to trail off. Even better, the lingering of the raw onion sort of enhanced the flavor, and made it last longer. The chicken was great, it never tasted or felt dry, and even if it was, it was in the company of so much juicy goodness that you wouldn't have known anyway. This also comes in regular, extra spicy, sweet & spicy, and tandoori. All flavors I will try, now that I know how good this is! FALAFILS The place is named for them, and I guess they are pretty good, but 8/10 might be the best I could ever give a filafil. I can't imagine what could happen that could make me like a filafil any more than that. They used to serve these in the shape of a White Castle chicken ring, but now they're traditional ping pong ball sized and shaped. They had just taken them out of the deep frier and into the paper bag so the paper bag was practically transparent after I got home. The crunch was definitely there, although I'd probably have to call it a crisp, more than a crunch, because it's a bit lighter. It's about the same as most falafils I've had. FALAFILLING! Messiness aside, that Spicy Chicken Shawarma is hard to beat! I definitely see myself getting the craving for it and, being so close to home, will probably be stopping by all the more!
